Sam is determined to prove to prove that she can look after herself. After years of serious illness she has found herself a flat in Brighton, near the sea, and soon she, will start looking for a job. Nothing is going to spoil things for her now.

But then frightening things start happening in her flat. One of the rooms seems to be possessed by the spirit of a long-dead girl and Sam hears her desperate crying in the night. Why has she come to haunt Sam? What terrible happened in the past to make her spirit so unhappy? Sam has to find the answers before it-is too late, before her life, too, is ruined by what happened in that room all those years ago.

 

● 作者簡介

HAZEL RILEY was born in Gateshead and discovered a passion for reading as a child. That's when she decided she was going to be a writer. She studied English Literature at York University, becoming a Trotskyist, a radical feminist, and a Buddhist in rapid succession. After university she moved to London where she did a variety of jobs. She now lives in London with her dog and divides her time between teaching adult literacy and writing for teenagers. The Crying is her second novel for Oxford University Press.
