Bridie is all alone in a dark and eerie city. Gramps has disappeared and the sinister Crickbone twins have taken over his yard.

As she wanders through the icy streets and deserted buildings, trying to discover shat has happened to Gramps, Bridie finds help and friendship in the most unlikely of places.

And when she stumbles across the Byzantium Bazaar, a crumbling old department store, she decides to make it her home. But will she really be safe here among the stray cats and the cobweds?

 

STEPHEN ELBOZ lives in Northamptonshire, and has had a variety of jobs, including being a dustman,a civil servant, and a volunteer on an archaeological dig. He now divides his time between teaching and writing. His first book, The House of Rats, won the smarties Young Judges prize for the 9-11 age category.
