A century ago, the war between the five nations of Cavallon – centaurs, unicorns, kelpies, pegasus and humans – ended in an uneasy truce. Much had been lost in the war, including old friendships between the nations.

Now prejudice and suspicion reign. The unicorns keep their former human allies as slaves. The sophisticated centaurs believe they’re the superior nation, but guard a dark secret. The kelpies blame the centaurs for forcing them out into the sea. And the pegasus, who everyone believes started the war, have exiled themselves to the mountains.

All this must change when a dramatic attack heralds a new enemy. Can four young heroes – two humans, a centaur and a pegasus – bring the nations together at last? Can humans and equines fight side by side for freedom? If they fail, Cavallon will be lost forever.
