故事中的的女主角泰莎(Tess)原先是一位活潑、健談的15歲少女，她曾經熱愛用自己的聲音表達，訴說著老師、同學以及父母渴望聽見的話語，透過從她口中發出的聲音，取悅著身旁週遭的每一個人。雖然，這讓她經常感受不到真實的自我，就好比她是一顆安靜且難以觸及的冥王星，可是大家卻將她看成了美麗又容易親近的金星或是水星。但是她仍舊樂於用她的話語描繪出內心的小宇宙。

直到某天，一篇不到700字的網路文章，讓泰絲的生活從此天翻地覆。於是從那天開始，泰絲決定停止說話了，徹底變回那顆沉默又遙不可及的冥王星，而週遭的人只能在遠處，看著、望著…
