Distance is the kindness of trees, bending into an airy embrace where closeness can breathe. Between their crowns lies a thoughtful space where light, air, and rain may be shared, allowing the forest to flourish together. This is a phenomenon known as Crown Shyness.

Crown Shyness is a meditation on distance as kindness, in the stretch between you and me, in the space between here and there, in the pauses that shape everyday life. It invites us to notice anew and to sense the quiet threads that weave us back into connection.

Pei-Hsin Cho (卓霈欣) is a London-based visual storyteller from Taiwan, specializing in illustration and animation. Her work revolves around the complexities of human emotions, exploring the depths of sentimentality across a wide range of subjects. Blending traditional and digital techniques, Pei weaves elaborate visual language and textures to transcribe the subtleties of human emotion into ethereal and atmospheric imagery.
