Three brave teens, three mysterious cases, three journeys of self-discovery
ESP Teens on Missions is the short story novel by award-winning children’s literature author Yu-Qing Wang. This book is inspired by real-life events and suspenseful tales centering on a group of teens who can utilize their talent and intelligence to uncover the truth behind a series of supernatural phenomena.
This book has a collection of three stories, including “The Haunted Flat”, which follows a highly sensitive girl, Kai-Yun, who moves into an old and strange apartment with her family and begins to hear eerie sounds that throw her into an anxious state. “Voices in the Dark” tells the story of Xiao-Xuan and his friend sneaking into a rumored haunted tin house, not to encounter a ghost but a lonely old man. Through interacting with him, they learn to confront fear and vulnerability with empathy. The mystical tale of “Vengeful Spirit” uses campus ghosts to explore students’ courage in standing up against bullying and embracing their self-worth.
Blending horror, mystery, and inner exploration, ESP Teens on Missions delves deeply into humanity, emotion, and personal growth themes.
