靠近點觀察世界——畢竟任何可愛的事物，在濃霧裡都可能像怪獸一般可怕！

驢子哈基姆(Hakim)織了一件毛衣，準備送給好朋友黛西(Daisy)，而黛西住在遙遠的山頂，要想找到她，哈基姆必須長途跋涉。

這一天，山坡上遍佈著濃霧，哈基姆幾乎看不到前頭道路。忽然一位老山羊先生出現，警告他不准再往前行，「因為濃霧中有怪獸，太恐怖了！」。不聽此勸的哈基姆繼續走著，忽然間，他看見了一隻奇形怪狀、從未見過的生物，然而湊近一看，卻發現是隻頭上頂著磚塊、手上拿著木板的小狗。

一頭前往山坡的他們，接著又看見了一隻背上疑似長滿了角的謎樣生物，兩人不禁害怕心想，該不會山裡霧裡真的有怪獸吧？然而，那不過是一隻背上插滿了雨傘的小豬罷了。

就在眾人即將抵達山頂時，他們似乎望見了一隻巨無霸生物，但出乎意料的，這個生物不但不可怕，還十分的親人可愛。伴隨幽默逗趣的情節鋪陳，《霧中怪獸》(Monsters In the Fog)提醒孩子在觀察事物時看清楚全貌，不隨意盲從他人的意見，在眾多神祕的事物中看見他們可愛迷人之處。
