一位亞裔美籍小女孩的遠行，造訪身在遠方的阿嬤(Amah)，看見沒有距離的溫暖與親情。

Amah，台語「阿嬤」的音譯。對定居美國的凱莉(Kylie)來說，聽起來終究有點陌生；即便兩人每週都會視訊，但等到真正準備踏上旅程，拜訪阿嬤的時候，凱莉還是緊張極了！——因為她知道，面對面的接觸，一定和視訊裡有些出入。

但是，現實生活中的阿嬤好熱絡：煮了一桌菜招待凱莉，帶她遊覽最美的台北，嘴裡總是掛著那句親切的「來看看」(Lai Kan Kan)、「來玩」(Lai Wan)，向孫女展示既陌生，卻又由衷溫暖的一切。如此簡短卻可愛的話，道盡了凱莉在中文與台灣人的好客中所感受到的溫情。

台北與舊金山，相距一萬多公里的飛行距離，曾經好奇「如此遙遠的兩座城市，為何我們需要到遠方」的凱莉，也許終將開始明白︰「家就是心的所在之處」(Home is where the heart is)，她與阿嬤相隔遙遠，卻也毫無距離。

 

Margaret Chiu Greanias，童書作家。自小從台灣移民美國的Greanias曾在紐約、德州、加州等地生長過；她對自己童年遠至台灣拜訪親戚的記憶非常深刻與珍貴，也促成了這部作品的生成。她的作品有《Maximillian Villainous》，目前和家人現居舊金山灣區。

Tracy Subisak，插畫家、設計師。Subisak的父親為波蘭/美國人，母親為台灣人，身為半個台灣人的她始終忘不了拜訪台灣的回憶。她現居美國波特蘭，作品如《Jenny Mei is Sad》、《Shawn Loves Sharks》等等。
