● 內文簡介

《男孩與玩具》由澳洲得獎童書作家與享譽盛名的繪畫家首度攜手合作,是澳洲 2010 年最引領期盼的兒童繪本!

A little boy is left alone in the lighthouse where he lives. But wait, there is a wonderful toy to entertain him! The toy can do anything. It can play hide and seek, it can swim in the ocean, and it is very good at jigsaw puzzles? But after a while the little boy realises that his other toys are slowly disappearing, and he suspects that the wonderful toy may not be so wonderful after all.

The Boy and the Toy is original, intriguing, a little bit absurd, funny in a slightly black kind of a way, dramatic, sad and happy. And it's set in a lighthouse! What more could a young reader want!

It explores themes of friendship, loyalty and self-reliance.

Lucia Masciullo was born in Livorno, Italy, and now lives in Brisbane, Australia. Lucia attended art school in Florence, and The Boy and the Toy is her first picture book.

A note from the editor

The combination of Sonya's luminous narrative and Lucia's charming illustrations, inspired by the steam punk movement, is truly magical. Children will be captivated by the lighthouse and the intrigue that unfolds within.
