我們心中都有害怕的東西，在學會克服之前，可以找幫手幫忙，但小象派翠克（Partick）可能不是合適的幫手。

小象派翠克對很多事都感到害怕。反觀爸爸，強壯無比幾乎什麼都不怕，沒錯，幾乎，而不是全部，因為爸爸怕老鼠。

某天下午，起司騙徒老鼠上門詐騙派翠克家的起司。爸爸嚇得躲在沙發後無法應對，天真的派翠克向老鼠秀出家中的起司，完全沒有意識到自己將小偷請進家門。竊喜的老鼠叫來同伴搬運起司，還搬走派翠克最愛的玩具和爸爸的沙發。束手無策的派翠克急得要哭。

幸好，媽媽及時回來。她用象鼻吹出強大的風，嚇走了為非作歹的老鼠們。

 

Tim Warnes是一位屢獲殊榮的童書插畫家暨作家。他的創作包括榮獲2003年謝菲爾兒童圖書獎（Sheffield Children’s Book Award）的《Scaredy Mouse》，其他作品有《A Little Bit Worried》和《The Big Book Adventure》等。
