What inspires those who inspire us?

Tricia Guild's status as a designer is legendary. Since 1970 she has created fabrics, wallpapers, paints and furnishings that are sold through the Designers Guild store in London and all over the world. Her extraordinary ability to ues colour and evolve with the times has guaranteed her a place at the forefront of interior design throughout career.

As Tricia says, You are what you see. Every moment of our lives we are taking in visual impressions of the world around us that can be stored as a sort of internal pattern book of images, later to be retrieved and used in the creative process. In this unique personal anthology, Tricia shows us what inspires her and how that influences her work as a designer, From great architecture to great shoes, Matisse to Marni, fashion to flowers, Indian miniatures to Italian landscape, her passions are wide and varied, and all inspire her work.

Tricia Guild founded Designers Guild in London in 1970, one of the most influential and creative forces in the world of interior design. Since then, the company has achieved international renown for a wide variety of home and lifestyle products; most notably, innovative furnishing fabrics and wallpapers, bed and bath and furniture as well as collections of paint, carpets and rugs and a range of stationery and accessories. Designers Guild products are wholesales in over forty countries around the world.

Tricia Guild oversees the entire creative process at Designers Guild. Her passionate contribution to the world of design is both distinctive and stimulating. She has received several awards, including an honorary fellowship of the Royal College of Art, an honorary degree of Doctor of Technology from Loughborough University, as well as the lnternational Elle Decoration Award for fabric design and the US Elle Décor award for the best in wall coverings. Tricia has eritten eleven books on design and colour including white Hot and Think Pink.
