ROY M. WALLACK has survived the Eco-Chal-lengee, the Soviet Union by bike, and some of the world's toughest two-wheel events. Author of The Traveling Cyclist and a former at Bicycle Guide, California Bicyclist, and Triathlete mjagazines, he is a fitness-gear columnist for the Los Angeles Times and covers cycling, fitness, longevity, triathlon, and run-ning for Bicycling, Men's Journal, Playboy, Outside, Competitor, and VeloNews. He lives in lrvine, CA.
BILL KATOVSKY biked across America, fin-ished the Hawaii lronman twice, and founded and edited Tri-Athlete and Inside Triathlon magazines. He later edited Triathlete, launched the endurance titles Multisport and Winning, and, in 2003, coauthored Embedded: The Media at wat in lraq: An oral History, which won Harvard's Goldsmith Book Prize. He lives in Mill Valley, CA.
