In this candid account, Leon Hendrix will share, for the first time, the real stories of his brother Jimi Hendrix’s transition from boy to man, from unknown to international legend, and sets the record straight for the millions of fans worldwide seeking the final word on Jimi Hendrix.
In March, the posthumous album Valleys of Neptune (featuring some of Jimi’s last recording with the Jimi Hendrix Experience trio) was released by Sony Legacy. It debuted at #4 on the Billboard album charts, and went to #1 for Amazon, Barnes and Noble, BN.com, and Borders.
Driven by sales of Neptune, the recently re-mastered deluxe CDs of the Hendrix canon (Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold As Love, Electric Ladyland, and First Rays of the New Rising Sun) all re-entered the Billboard Top 200. Jimi Hendrix also became the #1 trending search term on Yahoo!
Rolling Stone magazine featured Jimi on the cover of its April 1 issue. In the cover story, we learned of even more projects that are forthcoming from the arrangement between Experience Hendrix (his estate) and Sony Legacy.
