The book that grows out of Mihaela Noroc's extraordinary global photography project THE ATLAS OF BEAUTY!

Mihaela is a 31-year-old Romanian photographer who began traveling the world in 2013 highlighting, in her words, “the diversity of our planet through photographs of women.” As you look through the photos you will see that this project indeed captures not only the amazing breadth of cultures and natural wonders of the world we live in, but how the special beauty of women in all its colors, sizes, and ages show us how connected and extraordinary the human race is.

THE ATLAS OF BEAUTY has been growing a substantial social media following, with over 625,000 followers on Facebook and an additional 150,000 on Instagram and 48,000 on Tumblr. Each of those numbers have increased exponentially in the last year. These posts are greeted with tens of thousands of ‘likes’ and hundreds of ‘shares’ and supportive comments.

The project has also gotten some media attention, with articles and mentions in places like Huffington Post, Yahoo, Forbes, Elle, and Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday broadcast. A fuller list is included at the end of the proposal and pasted below. This has led to her being contacted directly by publishers here in the US and abroad.

We have quickly pulled together some sample material. As you will see, this was written by Mihaela herself, who is not fluent in English. She is eager to collaborate with a writer/translator to help her put her thoughts into shape. We will work with the eventual publisher to find the right person to do so. Regardless of the language of the text, which will be a relatively minor part of the book, the photos say it all.

The final book is envisioned to include approximately 350 color photos.
