英國首屈一指自然書寫作家最深邃而抒情的思索！

繼受到高度讚譽的觀鳥書寫經典《The Running Sky》後，Tim Dee這次將延續他獨特的詩意語言述說四個綠野的故事。他鍾愛原野（fields）勝過任何地景，並認為原野是最長久也最真實地紀錄了人類的生命需求，透露了人類如何順應自然、也違反自然而生，它們訴說的故事綿延了無數時空。

這四個作者熟知逾二十年的原野位於不同大陸，它們的綠草、樹籬、鳥群、天空，它們的自然與人類歷史遍及全球；它們有的適合步行，可以地圖標記，有的神秘，被爭奪，持續變換著面貌。而這四個原野皆標記著人類與綠草共存關係的某個轉捩點，分別為：英國劍橋郡現為農地與粗放牧地的沼澤區；尚比亞南部的一座舊殖民時代菸草農場；美國蒙大拿小巨角大草原，也就是美軍與印地安人的小巨角戰役發生地；以及烏克蘭車諾比污染禁區內的一片草地。

作者對這四個綠野的思索，將讓我們以全新角度看待我們生活的土地與方式。他鼓勵我們重新評估對野地的認識，檢視與思考人類帶來的干擾與破壞，同時留心我們與綠草與原野持續不輟的對話。

 

Tim Dee，1961年出生於利物浦，擔任BBC藝術廣播節目製作人長達二十餘年，為《TLS》、《衛報》、《歷史工作坊期刊》、BBC Wildlife等撰寫評論及文章。《Penguin Book of Bird Poetry》的共同編者。第一本書《The Running Sky》獲得高度讚譽。現居布里斯托與劍橋。
