David Finch is the author of Somewhere Inside, A Path to Empathy, the New York Times Modern Love column on which this story is based. David’s essay received an overwhelming response from husbands and wives, parents and children, Aspies and neurotypicals, all of whom found his honesty touching, hilarious, and inspiring. David studied sketch comedy and writing at The Second City in Chicago, and holds a degree in Music Engineering from the University of Miami.
