Lacey T. Smith gleaned his understanding of negotiation from hands-on experience in many sectors. Currently, he along with his wife, delivers seminars on negotiation, and he negotiates daily for companies of which he is a principal. A graduate of Hamline University, he holds an MPA degree from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School and an LLB degree fron Harvard Law School. He school. He studied negotiation with Roger Fisher at the Harvard Negotiation proiect and with Max Bazerman at Northwestern's Kellogg School. An entrepreneur and attorney, Smith has developed businesses in such dicerse areas as coal mining, dry cleaning, food service, logistics, health care, and asset-backed securitization in the tobacco industry, His political career includes service as state senator and assistant attorney general in Kentucky, He has taught at Brandeis University and the University of Louisville, and in the Bellarmine University MBA program.
