After spending a year taking care of baby elephants in Africa, Neelie Sterling is reluctantly returning to her life back in the States. A life filled with exes—an ex boyfriend, an ex husband, an ex house, and an ex horse. But first she’s on a mission to save a special elephant targeted for execution in Zimbabwe, with the help of a newly made friend, an eccentric safari operator named Diamond-Rose Tremaine.

Neelie and Diamond-Rose manage to buy some time for their elephant and land in New York, eager to raise funds for his rescue, but there are obstacles at every point. They must navigate the jungle of long forgotten
