When David's wife confesses that she was once a prostitute, the revelation doesn't disturb him - he considers it simply an error of youth. But the following night David collapses from a rare brain disease and within a few months his world is turned upside down.

Nathan Besser is a Sydney, Australia-based author whose short stories have appeared three times in The Best Australian Stories collection alongside writers such as J.M. Coetzee. His short fiction has also been broadcast nationally on the ABC, and published in Voiceworks. He has been the recipient of an Australia Council New Work grant, and was highly commended in the Australian Centre literary awards.
