Elle Woods is a sophomore high school, and she is in love with the star of her school's basketball team-Hunter Perry. She falls for Hunter when he addresses school at the pep rally, calling for more school spirit. Elle heeds the call and decides it is time for a change-for her and Beverly Hills High.

She hatches a plan to revive the cheerleaders and the basketball team-and then even has time to give herself a makeover. But Elle's transformation is all about good highlights and stylish new clothes. She has to learn what it really means to blonde at heart.
