1949. Nazi Germany has defeated the British and occupied the country. Rossett, a decorated British war hero, has returned to London, as a cop. Reassigned to the Bureau of Jewish Affairs, he gets on with his job -- which includes rounding up Jews for deportation – until one day something happens that awakens his conscience and changes his life. He finds himself on the run, the quarry of not only the Germans, but also the Royalist resistance and the Communists, who are being supplied by a Russia still at war with the Germans. Each faction has its own agenda, and Rossett learns that no one is to be trusted.
