● 內文簡介

敘述ㄧ位女性如何走出生命中的低潮,並勇敢的告別過去,展開全新的人生旅程。

It is just before Katia Werner's thirtieth birthday that, from one day to the next, she loses her job and apartment and doesn't have a clue about how her life is to continue. What she needs is a new beginning, and so without further ado she sets off for her old aunt's – her father's half-sister she has never before met. Aunt Ruth runs the "Palau Beach Hotel" in an idyllic setting on the Baltic Sea where time seems to have stood still. The hotel's decidedly elderly inhabitants and, more so, Katia's gruff and, in her own special way, impressive aunt make sure that the spontaneous weekend visit turns into a sojourn of several months.

After some chaotic affairs and numberless getaways Katia for the first time takes the risk of staying – without realising that in doing so she is letting herself in for the biggest challenge of her life.
